Cooper Overstreet is a recent graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law. He began working at the Swain Law Office as an intern in the summer of 2013. His everyday duties at the office include legal research and writing, taking client meetings, and working with other office members to ensure that the Swain Law Office provides the best possible representation to its clients. In less than a year working for the Swain Law Office Cooper has been able to witness firsthand the positive results that occur when a dedicated and passionate attorney along with a capable and equally dedicated staff, fight zealously on behalf of their clients.
Even before going to law school Cooper had a strong interest in social justice and the interaction between the legal system and everyday citizens. Born and raised in a small Kansas town, Cooper is strongly devoted to ensuring that the rights of his fellow Kansans are protected through competent and caring legal representation. Cooper ensures this through an intense focus on all phases of criminal law as well as litigation tactics and client advocacy, all of which are necessary to fully defend those who can’t defend themselves.
Upon completing the Bar Exam in July 2014, Cooper will join the Swain Law Office as a full-time attorney, where he hopes to continue to zealously advocate for clients and those who are faced with criminal prosecution. He is excited to be a part of a firm that is passionate about upholding the law and protecting your rights.
